WE'RE HEADING OUTSIDE TODAY !!!
Special note: While we're only just a day into our season, your coaches couldn't be more pleased with the great attitude and work ethic of our players. We truly look forward to working with each and every one of you this season!
As coaches, what do we look for now? We look to each player continuously improving their own personal skill level. We look for the team coming together as one unit. We look for that player or players who elevate their game to the next level and become that "high intensity" player. We look for that player or players who may quite unexpectedly find that role on the team that seems to fit them like a glove.
And all of it makes the season fun, and interesting. ENJOY!
First Players' Challenge: An outside defender from Team A kicks the ball upfield. In doing so, the ball goes high into the air and completely over the touchline, before the wind blows it back into the field of play where it bounces to the Team A kicker's teammate. What call should the Assistant Referee on that touchline signal? BONUS: What signal should he use to do so?
The first player to give me the correct answer will win a small prize! One Challenge win per season per player please. Answered by Amanda H !

I am very pleased to announce that Tom Nagan will join the Mustang Girls Soccer staff this season as varsity Co-Head Coach. Some of you have already met Coach Nagan through his Co-coaching with the Boys Soccer program, or perhaps the Captain's Club. Others will get the chance to meet him prior to our season at our Open Gyms.
Know that Coach Nagan and I share the same vision for the program: Steady improvement, building strong team loyalty, and sharing our appreciation for the game in the hope that our players will gain that same appreciation.
Looking forward to a GREAT 2012 season of Mustang Girls Soccer!

The effects of Second Impact Syndrome can be devastating.
Second Impact Syndrome is a very rare condition in which a second concussion occurs before a first concussion has properly healed, causing rapid and severe brain swelling and often catastrophic results. Second Impact Syndrome can result from even a very mild concussion that occurs days or weeks after the initial concussion.
As an athletic staff, our first committment will always be to player safety.
The link below will take you to a 12-minute video that originally aired on ESPN's E:60, called "Second Impact." While Preston Plevretes' injury was football-related, the message remains the same.

Some of our favorite quotes........................
"Our goals are clear. We need to beat the teams we should beat. We need to play well, and beat teams that people say we shouldn't beat. And then, we need to make certain we learn something from any team that happens to beat us." - Author currently unknown
"Being fair does not mean that all our players are given the same privileges. Privileges must be earned. Players that consistently demonstrate an ability to handle more responsibility will be rewarded with more privileges, and also entrusted with increased responsibility." - Author currently unknown
"Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible." - Author unknown
“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If you quit, however, it lasts forever.” - Lance Armstrong
"It's not any one person. It's not the coach. It's not a player. It's THE TEAM." - Brian McBride
"I've worked too hard and too long to let anything stand in the way of my goals. I will not let my teammates down, and I will not let myself down." - Mia Hamm
